EXSTATIC SENSOR/ELECTRODE INSTALLATION HOUSINGS AND ADAPTORS

EXstatic sensor housings are designed to adapt all Ø12mm x 120mm sensors to a wide variety of entry port types in tanks and on pipelines across many industries. Adaptors are easy to install and depending upon sensor/electrode type, can be provided with or without sensor tip protection cage for added security. Most are available with 316L stainless steel bodies and a choice of finish grade, and process seal materials. EXstatic 340 housings are also available in plastic. Each EXstatic housing is supplied with a cable connector protection cover. Custom designs for probe length, material and seals are available through Exner’s engineered product services.

EXstatic 340 housings are designed to allow the use of 12mm diameter probes where only NPT entries/mountings are available. They can also be used to facillitate the replacement of ¾” and 1” sensors with 12mm diameter x 120mm probes where standardization of one probe type in a facility makes sense. EXTRACT-M MANUALLY OPERATED RETRACTABLE HOUSINGS FOR Ø12MM SENSORS & ELECTRODES

EXtract-M sensor housings are designed for inserting and retracting Ø12mm sensors and electrodes in live processes without need to shut down or isolate. They come with various entry port options and are compatible with different sensor types and lengths. These housings are user-friendly and come with dedicated entries for sensor cleaning and decontamination fluids. They can be easily mounted directly to tank entries or used in pipeline installations with EXflow tee fittings. EXtract-M housings feature unique rotary drive operation with automatic locking in both inserted and retracted positions, even under higher pressures. A push-button locking release with visual indication ensures safe and clear sensor insertion/retraction status.

EXtract 830M insertion/retraction housings with HyCIP® technology are designed for hygienic applications where sterility must be maintained within the process. EXtract 830 housings allow the removal of sensors from tanks and vessels for maintenance purposes. Sensors can be in-situ resterilized/sanitized before re-insertion. Optional O-ring positions are offered to suit either 90° horizontal/vertical or 15° inclined port designs and versions are available for both gel/solid state and refillable electrolyte sensors. Cleaning connections are used to decontaminate sensor active surfaces before removal from the housing and sterilization before re-insertion.

The EXtract 840M housing uses a “push/pull” linear movement design to insert/retract process analytical sensors in and out of live processes up to a distance of 700mm. Insertion depth is set using a lockable bayonet collar on the mechanism that also serves to lock the sensor in position when inserted and prevents extraction when process pressure is too high. Optional ball valves can be supplied to isolate the sensor from the process once retracted. The EXtract 850M is an economical short stroke probe housing designed to insert/retract process analytical sensors in and out of clean, non-hazardous process lines and vessels. It uses a “push/pull” linear movement with locking buttons indicating whether the probe is “in” or “out” of process. As with all short stroke EXtract housings, it is not possible to operate the mechanism into a process without a probe properly installed in the assembly.

EXTRACT AUTOMATIC INSERTION/RETRACTION HOUSINGS FOR Ø12MM SENSORS & ELECTRODES

EXtract housings allow Ø12mm process analytical sensors and electrodes to be automatically inserted and withdrawn from live processes without the need to isolate or shut down. Available with a variety of entry port types and for a variety of sensor types and lengths, EXtract housings are pneumatically operated and supplied complete with dedicated entries for sensor cleaning and decontamination fluids. EXtract housings can be directly mounted to tank entries. For pipeline installation, EXflow tee fittings dimensioned to suit standard EXtract insertion operation are available. Color and size coded pneumatic connections simplify installation while built in position switches to provide feedback to control and operating systems. Operation is possible even under higher pressures. When used with an EXmatic control station, they become part of an overall sensor cleaning and care system improving measurement reliability while lowering maintenance costs and extending sensor life.

Key safety features assure safe operation:

  • Will not operate unless there is a probe properly installed within the housing
  • Sensor cannot be removed from housing when inserted in process

EXMATIC SERIES CONTROL STATIONS FOR AUTOMATICALLY OPERATED INSERTION/RETRACTION SENSOR AND ELECTRODE HOUSINGS

EXmatic units control the process of retraction, rinsing/cleaning and re-insertion of process analytical sensors in continuous process systems. By automating the cleaning of process analytical sensors, their life can be significantly extended, measurement quality improved and maintenance costs significantly reduced. EXmatic units are available for connection to up to two separate EXtract housings, and up to three cleaning solution valves per housing. Sensor cleaning cycle times are programmed for retraction, cleaning solution valve opening and periodicity, re-insertion and wait/settling time. Cleaning cycles can be triggered automatically through schedule or via external input. EXmatic units are agnostic and will operate with any brand of analyzer/transmitter and sensor.

EXmatic units are available with or without HMI and contain all pneumatic valving required for the operation of connected EXtract housings and their associated solution valves. Tubing sets, coded by both size and color are provided for ease of installation

EXFLOW FLOW CELLS FOR INLINE SENSOR AND ELECTRODE INSTALLATION

EXflow sensor flow cells are specifically designed for use with EXstatic 310/340 sensor adapters and EXtract 810/810M retractable sensor housings. When paired with these products, their mounting leg lengths ensure the sensor is optimally positioned within the process, leading to highly reliable readings. EXflow flow cells are offered with 180° or 90° flow paths and various process connections, including ANSI and DIN flanges and weld stubs. They accommodate standard Ø12mm sensors in EXstatic/EXtract fittings or direct mount G¾” / ¾” NPT threaded sensors.
